EXPERIENCE SOUTH AFRICA

SPENCER & PIPSY’S SUGGESTED ITINERARY

We know many of you will be traveling a long way to celebrate with us, so we put together a sample itinerary to help you make the most of your time in South Africa. Of course, feel free to customize it however you’d like. This is simply our recommended flow for an unforgettable South African experience!

  • Arrive in Cape Town and settle in! Spend the evening relaxing, and soaking in your first South African sunset. Welcome to South Africa - we can’t wait to celebrate with you all week long!

  • Spend your first full day relaxing around Camps Bay, wandering the beachside promenade, enjoying rooftop restaurants, and, if weather permits, going up to Table Mountain. The views are best on a clear day, so if your first day happens to be cloudy, it’s absolutely worth scheduling your Table Mountain visit on the day with the best visibility.

Please note, the Cape Town Cycle Tour is this day, so traffic around Cape Town will be heightened. The Tour will finish through Camps Bay, so energy will be high all day long!

We can’t wait to see you this evening at our Welcome Party that evening (most likely starting at 6pm).

  • It’s wedding day!

Spend the morning and early afternoon exploring the V&A Waterfront, visiting the Bo-Kaap neighborhood, touring Robben Island, or taking in the views from Table Mountain, if you haven’t had the chance already.

We cannot wait to celebrate with everyone that evening!

  • We recommend booking a full-day Cape Peninsula tour with Cape Ability Tours. You will be able to experience many of Cape Town’s iconic “must-sees” in one day, such as Chapmans Peak Drive, Cape of Good Hope, Boulders Beach, Muizenberg and more.

If you’d rather feel the thrills of Cape Town by skydiving or paragliding, visit our Explore page for more of our favorite Cape Town activities.

We recommend a slower start on this day. After the late celebrations the night before, you may thank yourself for skipping an early wake-up call!

  • No trip to Cape Town is complete without experiencing the wine country. We highly recommend dedicating a full day to exploring one of the region’s three most popular wine areas:

    • Stellenbosch

    • Franschhoek

    • Constantia

We suggest visiting 2–3 wine farms in a day so you can fully enjoy each experience without feeling rushed.

If you choose Franschhoek, the Franschhoek Wine Tram is an amazing way to explore the region and is something we highly recommend booking in advance.

For Stellenbosch and Constantia, you’ll likely want to Uber between wineries or arrange a private driver or car service for the day.

To help with planning your day, we’ve included a list of some of our favorite wineries here.

  • If your schedule allows, this is a great point in the trip to experience another side of South Africa with a safari adventure.

We recommend staying at a safari lodge for at least two nights to fully enjoy the experience. Many lodges will help coordinate transportation from the regional airport, as most safaris require a short flight from Cape Town International Airport.

After your safari, you’ll likely return to Cape Town before heading home, hopefully with incredible memories, amazing photos, and a new love for South Africa.

We encourage you to choose a lodge that best fits your personal travel style and priorities, but if you’re looking for a place to begin, you can find a few of our recommendations here.
