TRAVEL TO SOUTH AFRICA

FLIGHTS

  • RECOMMENDED AIRPORTS

    Cape Town International Airport (CPT)

Most guests will fly into CPT, which is the closest and most convenient airport to the wedding events. This airport is ideal for both arriving and departing flights if you wish to make Cape Town your only destination.

Johannesburg O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB)

For guests planning a safari before or after the wedding, you may prefer to arrive or depart through Johannesburg (JNB). Cape Town is a short domestic flight away from JNB, making it an easy destination to add to the beginning or end of the wedding weekend.

  • WHEN TO BOOK

The best fares and availability when booking flights is typically 7-9 months before travel, so we would recommend between June through August 2026. Guests interested in a safari extension should confirm safari dates before booking their international flights, as safari itineraries may influence arrival or departure cities and timing.

As for accommodations, you’ll find our recommendations below. Please be aware, the Cape Town Cycle Tour is scheduled for Sunday, March 14, 2027. With that in mind, we recommend booking lodging as soon as possible.

  • RECOMMENDED ARRIVAL

We recommend guests arrive in Cape Town on or before Sunday, March 14th, 2027, as wedding events will begin in the evening of March 14th.

  • GLOBAL ENTRY & TSA PRECHECK

For guests traveling internationally, Global Entry can help expedite your return to the United States by providing access to faster customs processing. Approval also includes TSA PreCheck for smoother security on domestic departures.

U.S. citizens do not need a visa for stays under 90 days. Passports must be valid for at least six months after travel and contain two blank pages for entry stamps.

ACCOMMODATIONS

AIRBNBS

For groups traveling together, we recommend booking an Airbnb in the Camps Bay area. It’s a walkable neighborhood with great restaurants, coffee shops, and direct access to the beach, while still being close to many of Cape Town’s top attractions.

To make things easy, we’ve put together a list of some of our favorite Airbnb options below.

PROTEA HOTEL CAPE TOWN

SEA POINT

Protea Hotel Cape Town Sea Point, part of the Marriott International portfolio, is a reliable and more affordable option located in the lively Sea Point neighborhood, less than 15 minutes from Camps Bay. With a clean, modern feel and easy access to the promenade and nearby beaches, it’s a convenient choice for travelers who want a comfortable stay close to the action without the premium price tag.

THE BAY HOTEL

The Bay Hotel is a beautiful beachfront option located directly across from the sand in Camps Bay. With multiple pools, on-site dining, and walkable access to the restaurants and shops along the strip, it’s a convenient and comfortable place to stay. Many rooms offer incredible views of the ocean or the surrounding mountains, making it easy to relax and enjoy everything the area has to offer.
